If you’re looking for a great way to add extra flavor and versatility to your RooR bong, the option bowl is exactly what you need. It’s an attachment that fits on top of any standard RooR bong or even works with other RooR accessories like the showerhead adapter and water catcher. The bowls are available in either black or white (only at select retailers).
The RooR bong has earned quite a reputation as one of the best smoking devices, thanks to its ergonomic design and innovative engineering innovations. But if you’ve ever used it without anything else, you know it can be pretty boring.
That’s where the option bowl comes in. The option bowl is exactly what you need if you want a great way to add extra flavor and versatility to your RooR bong.
It’s an attachment that fits on top of any standard RooR bong or even works with other RooR accessories like the showerhead adapter and water catcher. The bowls are available in either black or white (only at select retailers), but they all look similar, so we’ll refer to them simply by color throughout this article.
They come in three different sizes: small, medium, and large. They all have the same basic features: a percolating chamber, air intake vent, and exhaust port.
While they may seem simple, these components play a critical role in how cool and balanced each bowl will be. The percolation chamber serves as a heat-exchange area between hot gasses inside the bowl and cold outside air.
Without it, there would be no way for the heated vapor to condense into a fine mist. Since the air’s humidity will affect the intensity of hits, having a good percolator is essential. A bad one could leave you feeling thirsty and dehydrated.
Similarly, the air intake vent must let fresh air flow over the warm vapor to keep things cool. Exhaust ports also help clear out the smoke from the bowl and prevent it from escaping through the sides.
Most important, though, is the shape of the bowl itself. Each version has a unique form factor and style, so you should choose the one that suits you best. Some people prefer bigger bowls because they feel more comfortable holding onto them while they puff.
Others might find that smaller ones work better when trying to concentrate. Still, others might opt for one that looks more stylish. Whatever you choose, make sure it feels right. There’s nothing worse than finding yourself using a bong that just doesn’t fit properly.

How To Use An Option Bowl
Using an option bowl is easy once you get the hang of it. You can attach it to most bongs, although it requires minor adjustments depending on which bowl you have and which accessory you plan to use. Most important, though, is making sure everything lines up correctly.
First, unscrew the base plate off of your bong. Then slide the option bowl onto the end of the stem and screw the base back on. Depending on your type of bong, the distance between the bowl and the stem may vary slightly.
For example, the RooR bong uses about 1/4″ stems, so the distance between the bowl and the stem is only about 2 inches. On the other hand, the RooR XS bong uses 5/8″ stems, so the distance between the bowl and the stem is approximately 6 inches.
This means that you may need to adjust the bowl’s height slightly to match the length of your stem. Once everything is positioned correctly, tighten the screws on the base plate again.
Next, insert the hose into the air intake hole. Make sure that it fits snugly. Now plug the end of the hose into the bowl’s power source. Finally, plug the opposite end of the hose into the bowl itself. When you turn the power switch, it should cause the bowl to begin heating up immediately.
Try inhaling directly into the bowl for a quick hit as soon as it warms up. If the bowl gets too hot, pull the trigger gently until it cools down. Afterward, check out the exhaust tube. It should point straight up toward the sky. Now exhale forcefully through the mouthpiece.
Your last step is to set the temperature control knob to whatever setting you desire. With the correct settings, you should be able to enjoy a perfect balance every time.
