If you’re looking for a smaller RooR bong, the new 7mm is your ticket to heaven.
When I first heard about the RooR’s upcoming 7mm edition and saw its sleek design, I immediately knew that this was my next smoke machine—and not just because of size.
With an innovative “fins” system that allows air through while keeping ash out, the 7mm is designed with smoking in mind. And unlike some other small-format weed smokers, which are often made of cheap materials like titanium or plastic, the 7mm is made from handblown glass. This makes it feel more substantial than anything else on the market today.
And if you don’t want to deal with loose-leaf cannabis, the 7mm also comes ready to be filled at home (for $99). After getting your prerolled joint, you’ll have to pick up your bag and hit the road—no need to wait days until your bud turns into buds.
But what exactly do all those features mean? What can the 7mm achieve? And how much will it cost me when it gets released later this year? Here’s everything you should know before buying one.
What Is It?
The newest version of the world’s most popular portable vaporizer/smoke machine, the RooR, has been redesigned as a compact 7mm personal pipe that fits right in your pocket. With an easy-to-hold handle and clean exterior, the 7mm is perfect for discreet use anywhere you go.
This latest model retains many of the best aspects of previous editions but introduces a few notable improvements. For starters, the 7mm uses an internal fin mechanism that prevents the build-up of any stray ashes inside the bowl — making cleanup easier.
Also, the 7mm uses a lighter base chamber that heats up faster, so you can get more hits off without having to refill the whole thing every time. Lastly, the 7mm now has a built-in LED light that can display different colors depending on your mood.
Design
While still pretty tiny compared to traditional large bowls, the 7mm feels solid, considering its diminutive stature. Its main body is shaped like a cone with a flat bottom where you place your hand to hold the stem and two side chambers that house the heating unit and fan, respectively.
On top is a removable mouthpiece cover that acts as a decorative accent for your setup and a handy way to keep track of remaining battery life.
On each end of the device, four raised ridges called fins create airflow through the entire structure while preventing any leftover ash chunks from building up. These fins work similarly to the chimneys found on a grill, allowing hot gases to flow upwards and pushing residual material outwards through the exhaust hole below.
I’ve used several vape pens over the past few years, including ones by PAX and Grenco Science, and none felt quite as smooth or consistent as the RooR 7mm when delivering quality concentrates. Even though these things typically come equipped with 510 connectors, I never had trouble using them with whatever kind of wax I’d usually try.
One neat feature unique to the 7mm is that it includes three different settings for temperature control. There’s a low setting for subtle effects, a medium for something stronger, and a high for maximum effect. Another nice touch is that the 7mm offers five color options for displaying the current battery level: red, white, blue, purple, and green.

Using it
Unlike some other vapes, the 7mm doesn’t require special tools to fill, pack, or take apart. Just grab your preferred weed strain, load up the bowl, put some water inside, plug it in, and start inhaling. Once the desired amount of THC enters your lungs, remove the cap from the top of the tube and enjoy.
As far as maintenance goes, cleaning the 7mm isn’t too complicated either. All you need to do is rinse the bowl under warm running water once in a while to ensure any gunk left behind doesn’t cause problems further down the line. If dust or debris ever starts clogging the bowl, gently scrape it away with a toothpick or cotton swab.
Overall, the 7mm is very straightforward to operate and is intuitive enough for anyone who’s smoked marijuana before to figure it out quickly. But if you aren’t familiar with these devices, here are some helpful tips to help you avoid burning yourself when trying to concentrate.
First, remember to always heat the bowl slowly and evenly. That means taking extra care to ensure no part of the flame touches the sides of the glass rather than directly hitting the oil within.
Second, be careful not to let your hands linger around the bowl while it’s being heated.
Thirdly, please turn your phone camera off during sessions because they tend to draw attention.
Finally, stay safe! Always wear protective eyewear, gloves, and long sleeves whenever possible.
Like
Smaller formats typically perform better than larger ones since shorter tubes allow quicker draws. While this might seem counterintuitive due to higher temperatures, the ability to focus more closely on your technique is worth the tradeoff.
Additionally, the 7 mm streamlined design allows for quick portability between rooms and spaces, whether traveling alone or hanging with friends.
Watching the LEDs change colors based on intake is fun, especially if you prefer darker strains. And overall, the 7mm performs well and looks great doing it.
Dislike
Because the 7mm only requires filling twice per week, you won’t have to worry about refilling the bowl regularly like you would with other models. However, this convenience may also lead to less frequent usage overall.
Additionally, the 7mm isn’t compatible with any accessories like dab rigs, grinders, etc., meaning you won’t have access to any additional functionality unless you buy separately.
Lastly, the 7 mm price tag seems steep compared to competitors’ products. A regular RooR costs $169, whereas the cheapest Pax 2 retails for $79. Still, given the superior quality of the 7mm, we think it’s worth paying the premium.
Should You Buy It?
Yes. Even though the 7mm hasn’t officially launched yet, it already stands above nearly every major competitor thanks to its exceptional construction and innovative design. We expect it to sell out fast, given that demand remains strong for such a niche product.
However, we recommend sticking to the original 6×6 for beginners or intermediate users interested in edibles. Though slightly bigger, it packs a punch difficult to replicate with smaller versions. Plus, if you enjoy the milder effects of the 7mm, the 6×6 will likely provide a smoother transition to full flower.
